The Bishop’s House in Amman, Jordan, was filled with joy as his Grace Bishop Hosam, the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, and Mrs. Rafa Qafiti Naoum, his wife, welcomed Diocesan Clergy, Heads of Institutions, Staff and their spouses from Jordan and Lebanon on Monday evening, December 19th, 2022, for a Christmas dinner.
Bishop Naoum welcomed all in attendance, who have come from the different cities in Jordan and from Beirut, and congratulated them on the coming of Christmas. He talked about the Christmas season, reminding all that the Baby of the Manger, who was born into a poor family and was placed into a manger. He also thanked the clergy, staff, and heads of institutions for their role in the advancement of the ministry of the Diocese, which serves the local community. Emphasising the achievements of the Diocese of Jerusalem, which we attained by working together, since our strength comes from our unity. In his speech, Bishop Naoum, asked God to protect the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, its King, HM King Abdullah II, and its people, praying for the martyrs, and for quick recovery for the wounded.
Mrs. Naoum thanked all who attended the Christmas dinner, welcomed them, and wished them and their families a Merry Christmas. Rev’d Canon Fuad Dagher led the singing of Christmas Carols. Bishop Naoum also joined in singing some Christmas Carols. Rev’d Canon Faeq Haddad gave a speech on behalf of the clergy, and Mrs. Faten Azar gave another on behalf of the heads of institutions. Other speeches were presented thanking Bishop and Mrs. Naoum for their invite, and hospitality, and presented then with gifts.
Archdeacon Imad Zorob offered a prayer asking for God’s blessings over all and for happiness for all, especially during this Christmas season, and blessed the food. Pictures were taken near the Christmas tree.
May the blessings of the Baby of the Manger be with Jordan, its King, and people, and with all our clergy, parishes, and institutions so that they all may live the joy and peace of the Nativity.
رعاة المطرانية ومدراء المؤسّسات وموظفو المجمع الكنسي في الأردن ولبنان يقدّمون التهنئة لرئيس الأساقفة حسام نعوم بمناسبة عيد الميلاد المجيد بأجواء الفرح والمحبّة استقبل غبطة رئيس الأساقفة الأنچليكاني في القدس المطران حسام نعوم وعقيلته السيدة رفاء قفعيتي نعوم كهنة المطرانية وزوجاتهم من الأردن ولبنان ومدراء المؤسّسات وموظّفي المجمع الكنسي وعائلتهم في عمّان مساء يوم الإثنين 19/12/2022 على لقاء ميلاديّ ووجبة عشاء في منزل رئيس الأساقفة في العاصمة الأردنيّة عمان.
رحّب المطران نعوم بالحضور القادمين من مدن وبلدات الأردن وبيروت، وقدّم التهاني لهم بمناسبة حلول عيد الميلاد المجيد، وتحدّث عن موسم الميلاد، استذكر أنّ طفل المغارة وُلد فقيراً متواضعاً مقمّطاً مضجعاً في مذود. كما وشكر الرعاة والمدراء والموظّفين على كلّ ما يقدّمونه في خدمة المجمع الكنسي والمجتمع وأشاد بانجازات أبرشية القدس الأسقفية التي نحقّقها بالعمل معاً فقوّتنا في وحدتنا. ودعا الله تعالى في كلمته بأن يحمي الأردن وملكها عبد الله الثاني وشعبها، والرحمة لشهداء الوطن والشفاء للمصابين.
بدورها شكرت السيدة نعوم من حضر حفل العشاء الميلادي ورحّبت بهم وأعربت عن فرحها بمشاركتهم وقدّمت التهاني لهم ولعائلاتهم. قاد القس الكنن فؤاد داغر فقرة ترانيم ميلاديّة، وقد شارك في الترنيم أيضا المطران نعوم. وقدّم القس الكنن فائق حداد كلمة تهنئة باسم الرعاة، والمربيّة فاتن عازر باسم المدراء، وكلمات أخرى، شكروا فيها المطران والسيّدة نعوم على الدّعوة والضّيافة وقدّموا الهدايا.
رفع الأرشديكون عماد زعرب الصلاة طالباً أن يمنح زمن الميلاد البركة وفرح يسوع على الجميع وبارك الطعام قبل العشاء. تمّ التقاط الصّور التذكارية بجانب شجرة الميلاد.
بارك الرب يسوع المولود في المغارة الأردن وملكها وشعبها. وجميع الرّعاة والرّعايا والمؤسّسات حتّى يعيشوا دائماً فرح وسلام الميلاد.
