Bishop Hosam Naoum, the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, participated in the Advent Ecumenical Prayer Service at St. Catherine Catholic Church, next to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. People at the Glasgow Cathedral in Scotland joined the service virtually.
Bishop William Al Shomali, the Patriarchal Vicar for Jerusalem and Palestine, Fr. Issa Misleh, representing Metropolitan Benedictos, Fr. Rami Asakrieh, the vicar of the parish, and others from the priests in Bethlehem attended the service. Bishop Naoum was accompanied by Rev’d Canon Don Binder, and Rev’d Canon Wadie Far.
The Friends of the Holy Land (FHL) Committee organized the service, also Mr. Peter Rand the Vice-Chari of the Committee was present in the service in Bethlehem.
The FHL was established in 2007 by the Anglican and Catholic Churches, in the United Kingdom. With its main objective being to support the Christian presence in the Holy Land.
شارك رئيس الأساقفة الأنچليكاني في القدس المطران حسام نعوم في خدمة الصلاة المسكونية التي أقيمت في كنيسة القديسة كاترينا الراعوية للاتين الواقعة بجوار كنيسة المهد في مدينة بيت لحم، الخدمة المسكونية المشتركة افتراضيًا مع كاتدرائية چلاسچو في اسكتلندا، بمناسبة فصل المجيء الأدفنت وذلك يوم السبت 3/12/2022.
بحضور المطران وليم شوملي النائب البطريركي العام للاتين والأب عيسى مصلح ممثلا عن الوكيل البطريركي فنيذكتوس والأب رامي عساكرية كاهن الرعية وغيرهم من رعاة كنائس بيت لحم. وقد رافق المطران نعوم كلّ من القس الكنن دون بيندر والقس الكنن وديع الفار.
أقيمت الخدمة المسكونية بتنظيم وتنسيق جمعية أصدقاء الأرض المقدسة، وكان حاضراً أيضاً نائب رئيس مجلس أمنائها السيد بيتر راند.
تأسّست جمعية أصدقاء الأرض المقدّسة في عام 2007 من قِبل الكنيسة الأنچليكانية والكنيسة الكاثوليكية في المملكة المتحدة، وهدفها الرئيسي هو دعم الحضور المسيحي في الأرض المقدّسة.
