Archbishop Hosam Naoum, the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, and his wife Mrs. Rafa Naoum arrived at the Lambeth Conference held in the city of Canterbury on Thursday July 28th, 2022.
The Lambeth Conference is convened once every ten years by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. This Conference has been postponed from 2020 because of the Covid Pandemic. More than 650 bishops plus their spouses have gathered from 160 countries, and approximately 40 Anglican Provinces.
The Lambeth Conference is considered an important gathering in the life and ministry of the Anglican Church. In it, the Bishops are invited to pray together, share in Bible Studies, and hold conversations regarding: the unity of the Church, Theological topics, interfaith relationships, safe church, and listening together to the challenges and needs of the world concerning: poverty, the environment, human dignity, reconciliation, and peace.
The Biblical text for the conference is Peter’s first letter, and the title of the conference is “God’s Church For God’s World”
Bishop Naoum said: “the Lambeth Conference is a great opportunity to meet with many bishops, some of whom are good friends, and to build new relationships with others. I hope the conference will contribute in strengthening the unity and synodality between all the Provinces.”
Later in the conference Bishop Naoum will be presenting a Planery, and participating in some seminars.
Bishop and Mrs. Naoum will participate in the Bishop’s and Spouses respective programs. The conference concludes its sessions on August 7th.
رئيس الأساقفة حسام نعوم يشارك في مؤتمر لامبث 2022 في كاتدرائية كانتربري.
وصل رئيس الأساقفة الأنچليكاني في القدس المطران حسام نعوم وعقيلته السيدة رفاء نعوم، يوم الخميس 28/7/2022 ليشاركا في مؤتمر لامبث الخامس عشر في كاتدرائية ومدينة كانتربري.
يُعقد مؤتمر لامبث مرةً كل عشر سنوات بدعوة من رئيس أساقفة كانتربري جاستن ويلبي. كان قد تمّ تأجيل المؤتمر من عام 2020 بسبب الجائحة. وقد وصل أكثر من ستمائة وخمسين أسقفاً وزوجاتهم/أزواجهن، قادمين من مائة وستين دولة، ومن حوالي أربعين اقليماً كنسياً تابعاً للعالم الأنچليكاني.
يُعتبر مؤتمر لامبث مجمعاً هاماً في حياة وخدمة الكنيسة الأنچليكانية الأسقفية، يقضي الأساقفة فيه وقتاً في الصلاة والتأمل ودروس الكتاب المقدس والحوار حول مواضيع لاهوتية، ووحدة المسيحيين والعلاقات بين الأديان، بالإضافة إلى الكنيسة الآمنة والإصغاء معاً الى تحديات واحتياجات العالم في قضايا الفقر والمناخ والبيئة وكرامة الإنسان والمصالحة والسلام.
النص الكتابي للمؤتمر هو رسالة بطرس الرسول الأولى وشعار المؤتمر هو “كنيسة الله من أجل العالم”.
قال المطران نعوم: “مؤتمر لامبث هو فرصة كبيرة للقاء الكثيرين من الأساقفة الأصدقاء ولبناء علاقات جديدة، وأتمنى أن يساهم المؤتمر في تعزيز الوحدة والسينودسية بين كافة الأقاليم”.
لاحقاً خلال المؤتمر سيقدّم المطران نعوم محاضرة وسيشارك في قيادة ورشتي عمل.
هذا ويشارك المطران والسيدة نعوم في محاضرات مشتركة وأخرى منفصلة حسب البرنامج. يستمر المؤتمر حتى السابع من شهر آب.
