The Ahlia and Bishop’s Schools celebrate the graduation ceremony of their 83rd class on Tuesday 7/ 6/ 2022

The Ahlia and Bishop’s Schools celebrated the graduation ceremony of their 83rd class at The Cultural Palace- Al Hussein Sports City, under the patronage of Her Excellency Mrs. Haifa Najjar, Jordanian Minister of Culture, and Archbishop Hosam Naoum, the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem and the Chair of the Board of Directors, on Tuesday Evening June 7th, 2022. Present in the ceremony were Monsignor Mauro Lalli, Charge d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in Amman, a group of Diocesan Priests from Jordan and Galilee, Dr. Alice Aboud, the Acting General Manager of the Schools, the schools’ Heads of the Departments, the members of the Board of Directors, and the parents of the graduates.

The Hundred and twenty-seven graduates processed in followed by Her Excellency Minister Najjar, and His Grace Archbishop Naoum. Following the procession, all stayed standing for the Jordanian National Anthem. Rev’d George Kopti opened the ceremony with a prayer in place of Rev’d Canon Faeq Haddad, who was not able to attend for health reasons. During the ceremony, the graduates gave two speeches, one in Arabic, and the second in English. Some graduates and the School’s Choir presented different artistic segments in the program. In her speech, Dr. Aboud addressed Bishop Naoum and the Board of Directors assuring them that with their support the Schools will reach the dreams set before them.

In his speech Archbishop Naoum welcomed Minister Najjar, the patron of the graduation, who in turn thanked Bishop Naoum, and the Diocesan Synod for their continued support to the Ahlia and Bishop’s Schools’ mission, thanking the Synod for its continued ministry despite the challenges and gave some guidance to the students.

Bishop Naoum addressed the graduates saying: “Your Graduation today is an important milestone for you, your parents, and your school. It took many years of hard work and sacrifices to reach this milestone. You should be proud of yourselves and know that what you have achieved is important and will be beneficial to your future. We are gathered here today to celebrate you, your success, and your achievements. So, I congratulate you and all present on your achievements and hard work.” He then gave them some guidance saying: “Now you need to think about your future, and for that future to be bright, you need to think about the decisions that you will make to shape your future academically, professionally, and personally. Take advantage of all that you have learned in your academic home. Do not limit your thoughts and imagination. Dream big, so that you can achieve big. You have learned in your school that hard work delivers you to your goals successfully.” Bishop Naoum congratulated the graduates, their parents, and the Academic Faculty on finishing another academic year. Bishop Naoum also sent greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah II, congratulating him on Jordan’s 76th Independence Day. Emphasizing the important role His Majesty has as the custodian of the Christian and Islamic Holy Sites in Jerusalem.

At the end of the ceremony the certificates were distributed, and after taking a group picture, the graduates sang “Mawtiny” and the anthems of the Ahlia School, and that of the Bishop’s School.
