the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre officially inaugurated the new section of the Child Rehabilitation Center
Under the patronage of Archbishop Hosam Naoum, and with generous funding by the Federal Republic of Germany through its Development Bank KFW, and through implementation by the United Nations Development Programme, the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre has inaugurated the newly renovated suite of therapy rooms.
The Archbishop expressed his pride in the services offered by the Basma team, acknowledging it was not easy to ensure the growth of this unique service provision. However, the organization’s commitment to developing its capacity ensured that the centre remained up to date with new developments in the field of rehabilitation of children with disabilities.
The Head of the German Representative Office in Ramallah, Mr. Oliver Ownza praised the quality of the services at the Child Rehabilitation Centre, pointing out that the Centre is a source of inspiration, while expressing his respect for the positive spirit there. Moreover, he thanked all partners for completing this important project. Mr Ownza honored the Basma Centre’s role, specifically within this project in overcoming the challenges related to continuing to provide rehabilitation services during the spread of the Coronavirus.
The Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Development Program, Ms. Chitose Noguchi, said that she could see the pride and commitment of the Basma staff, which strives to ensure that Palestinian children can access rehabilitation services, especially through the Virtual Therapy Program that provides services to children from Gaza Strip and the West Bank including East Jerusalem.
The event concluded with a speech by Mrs Violette Mubarak, from the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre, who thanked all the supporters of the Basma Centre while explaining the importance of these kind of projects in raising the capacities of its staff, and in providing additional opportunities for Palestinian children with disabilities to access medical and rehabilitation facilities of the highest quality.
It is worth noting that the new suite in the Child Rehabilitation Centre includes 6 therapy rooms, in which the Centre provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychosocial support.

افتتحت مؤسسة الأميرة بسمة الجناح الجديد في مركز تأهيل الطفل
تحت رعاية رئيس الاساقفة المطران حسام نعوم، وبتمويل سخي من قبل جمهورية المانيا الاتحادية من خلال بنكها الانمائي KFW ، وبتنفيذ من قبل برنامج الامم المتحدة الانمائي UNDP، قامت مؤسسة الأميرة بسمة بالقدس بافتتاح الجناح الجديد للغرف العلاجية في مركز تأهيل الطفل.
وقد عبر المطران حسام عن اعتزازه بالخدمات التي تقدمها مؤسسة الأميرة بسمة بالقدس، موضحا انه ليس من السهل تقديم هذا النوع من الخدمات الفريدة، الا ان المؤسسة حرصت وعلى مر السنين على تطوير قدراتها لمواكبة التطورات في مجال العلاج وتاهيل الاطفال ذوي الاعاقة.
وقد شكر نعوم جميع الداعمين والمساندين للخدمات المقدمة في مؤسسة الأميرة بسمة بالقدس، وعلى رأسهم ممولي ومنفذي مشروع توسعة مركز تأهيل الطفل مثنيا على جهودهم الداعمة والتي تعزز عمل المؤسسة.
فيما اثنى رئيس الممثلية الألمانية في رام الله، السيد أوليفر اوفتشا بدوره على مستوى جودة الخدمات المقدمة في مركز تأهيل الطفل، لافتا الى ان المركز يمثل مصدر الهام، فيما ابدى اعجابه بالروح الايجابية الموجودة في المكان وشكر جميع الشركاء على اتمام هذا المشروع المهم على حد تعبيره. وقد اثنى اوتشا على دور المؤسسة وبالتحديد هذا المشروع في تخطي التحديات المتعلقة باستمرار تقديم العلاج خلال فترة انتشار وباء كورونا.
ومن جانبها قالت نائب الممثل الخاص للمدير العام لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي السيدة تشيتوسي نوغوتشي
إنها رأت الفخر والالتزام لدى طاقم المؤسسة الذي يسعى جاهدا للتاكد من وصول الاطفال الفلسطينيين لخدمات التأهيل وخاصة من خلال برنامج العلاج عن بعد الذي يوفر الخدمة للاطفال في قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية بما يشمل القدس.
فيما اختتم الحفل بكلمة القائم باعمال المدير العام، فيوليت مبارك، التي شكرت خلالها جميع الداعمين للمؤسسة موضحة اهمية هذه المشاريع في رفع قدرات الطاقم، وبالتالي توفير مزيد من الفرص للاطفال الفلسطينيين ذوي الاعاقة في الوصول للخدمات الطبية والتأهيلية المناسبة وبأعلى مستوى للجودة.
ومن الجدير ذكره ان الجناح الجديد في قسم التأهيل يحتوي على 6 غرف علاجية، يتم فيها تقديم خدمات العلاج الطبيعي، والعلاج الوظيفي، اضافة لعلاج النطق واللغة والدعم والارشاد النفسي.
