The Archbishop of Dublin and Glendalough, the Most Reverend Michael Jackson preached. Also in attendance were: the Reverend Ken Rue; Canon Bob Edmonds (The Episcopal Church, representing the Presiding Bishop, the Right Reverend Michael Curry), The Very Reverend Canon Dr. Gregory Jenks, The Reverend Canon Dr. Lawrence Hilditch, The Reverend Canon David Longe. After the service the Bishop hosted a reception, where among others he welcomed Paul Haines who had walked, on pilgrimage, from Rome to Jerusalem. Mr. Haines brought greetings from the Diocese of Truro, Cornwall, UK.

The Archbishop and Mrs. Dawani welcomed the Greek Orthodox Patriarch, Theophilus III along with Archbishop Aristarchos and Archbishop Esechius. Afterwards, Archbishop Suheil welcomed representatives from Union of Charitable Societies and local dignitaries from Jerusalem society. Also in attendance were Dean Hosam Naoum, Dr. Hisham Nassar and Reverend Canon David Longe.

The Archbishop presided and preached at the Church of the Redeemer, Amman, Jordan. The service was followed by a reception in the church hall.

The Archbishop presided and preached at the 11am Eucharist, and hosted drinks for the congregation. There was lunch for members of the Cathedral Close.

Christmas Eve, Carols at Shepherds’ Fields, YMCA, Beit Sahour

Christmas Eve, Carols at the Church of the Nativity attended by His Excellency, Mr Mahmoud Abbas, President of Palestine, and Mr Naif Al-Faeyes, Jordanian Minister of Tourism, representing His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. Also in attendance were the British Consul-General, Dr Alistair McPhail; the British Ambassador, His Excellency Mr David Quarrey, and other representatives from the international community.

Archbishop Suheil welcomed Bishop Diane Bruce and young people from All Saints, Beverley Hills, who are on pilgrimage in the Holy Land over Christmas, Monday, 21 December 2015.

The Evangelical Home celebrated the traditional Christmas lunch on Friday, 18 December 2015. Archbishop Suheil accompanied with Shafeeqa and his Chaplin joined the Evangelical Home family with Christmas Carlos and lunch that was prepared by the workers. Around 50 people enjoyed their time together in support of the girls who live in the Home while away from their families. Rev. Fadi Diab and Sr. Najah welcomed the guests and led the prayer and carols before lunch.

This litany has evolved out of prayers said daily in the Cathedral Church of St. George-the-Martyr, Jerusalem, as a result of the tensions, violence, paranoia and fear that has swept throughout Jerusalem and is continuing to affect the entire region since October 2015.
