The Third Summer camp was held at St Margret’s Guest House from 8–12 August 2016 and was attended by young people from our Parishes in Palestine and Israel. The theme of the week was 'Sowing & Reaping'.
During their recent brief visit to the UK, the Archbishop and Mrs Dawani visited Southwark Cathedral and hosted a lunch by kind permission of the Dean of Southwark, The Very Reverend Andrew Nunn and through the generosity of the Bishop of Southwark, The Right Reverend Christopher Chessum.
A 'dream realized' after 25 years! - the Queen Helena Project in Jerusalem. After 25 long years, work has at last started on the Housing Investment Project for the Diocese of Jerusalem.
Peter Makari brought a delegation of members from the Reformed Church in America to meet The Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, The Most Reverend Suheil Dawani. During their meeting they discussed the development of a future relationship between The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and the Reformed Church in America.
Archbishop Suheil Dawani attended Ramadan Iftar at St. Luke’s Hospital in Nablus, also in attendance were Dr. Walid Kerry the General Manger of the Hospital, Reverend Ibrahim Nairouz, Dr. Hisham Nassar and Mr Amin Abu Hanna.
The Archbishop met members of the Redeemer Church in Amman and hosted a lunch at the Guest House, before a service of the Holy Communion in the Cathedral.
Archbishop Suheil Dawani attended Ramadan Iftar at Dr. Basem Abu Assab’s Residence. Also, Patriarch Emeritus Michael Sabbah, Archbishop Atallah Hanna, Bishop William Shomali and former Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad were in attendance.
At St George’s School, Jerusalem, the Archbishop is delighted to announce the appointment of Dolly Kaibni Namour as the General Director of St.George's School.This was agreed at the meeting of School Board on 21st June 2016. Please do hold the school, Mrs. Namour and her family in your prayers as she takes up this role.
Archbishop Suheil Dawani met Her Excellency Birgitta Siefker –Eberle the German Ambassador in Jordan and discussed ministry in Jordan.
The Archbishop is delighted to announce that the Reverend Dr Khaled Freij has been appointed the Director of Theodore Schneller School. The Archbishop, following the meeting of TSS Board in Amman on 19th June, announced this appointment to the staff of TSS on 20th June. Reverend Freij commences as the full time Director from 1st July 2016. Please hold all at TSS, Reverend Khaled and his family, in your prayers as he commences this new ministry in the diocese.
On Friday, 17th June 2016, women from across the region (Palestine, Jerusalem and Israel) gathered at Jenin. The Archbishop led a Bible Study; there was worship and lunch; and a visit to Burqin Church (cf.Luke 17.11-19).

On Wednesday 15 June Archbishop Suheil Dawani hosted a Ramadan Iftar for Muslim and Christian leaders in the Bishop’s Peace Garden at St George's, also attended by Patriarch Theophilos III, Bishop Wiliam Shomali, Director General of Islamic Waqf in Jerusalem Sheikh Azzam Khatib and Adnan Al-Husseini the Palestinian Governor of Jerusalem.
Archbishop Suheil Dawani attended the board meeting for Ahliyya and Bishop School, Jordan.
On 12 June 2016 the Archbishop preached and presided at a service at St John the Baptist’s church, Husan, Jordan; he also met the Pastoral Committee and visited the new kindergarten at Husan.
On 6th June, the Archbishop met the chairman of Friends of the Holy Land, Jim Quinn and Vicky Urch.
The Archbishop attended the Graduation Ceremony at Christ’s School, Nazareth
