Reverend Fares Naoum (Redeemer Church, Amman), Reverend Jamil (The Church of the Good Shepherd, Salt, Jordan), and the Reverend David Roche (All Saints, Beirut and CMS Mission Partner) were ordained to the diaconate by the Most Reverend Suheil Dawani, Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem.
Friends, family and clergy (from across the Diocese) to celebrate this ordination, including the Reverend Deacon Paul Thaxter, International Director of Mission for CMS; the Right Reverend Mounib Younan (Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church) the Right Reverend William Shomali (RC).
The Archbishop preached on the gift of humility to the world for the role of the Deacon. The Very Reverend Canon Dr Gregory Jenks, Dean of St George’s College, led the pre-ordination retreat.
