The Diocesan clergy gathered at St George’s College for their annual retreat led by the Very Reverend Canon Dr Gregory Jenks, Dean of St George’s College.
The retreat were addressed by the Greek Orthodox Patriarch, Theophilios III, who spoke about unity and the Christian Presence as well as showed a copy of the agreement between the Caliph Omar and the Christian Churches. The Patriarch presented the clergy with an icon of the Virgin Mary and Child. Following the audience with the Patriarch, the clergy toured the Holy Sepulchre venerating the tomb of Christ, before travelling to the Mount of Olives to tour and lunch at the Princess Basma Hospital Centre for Disabled Children with the director, Mr Ibrahim Faltas.
The clergy visited among other things the physio therapy department, the inclusive school (where children, both abled and disabled learn together) and the work shop.
