Archbishop Hosam Naoum, the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, met with Archdeacon Imad Zorob, the rector of All Saints Church Beirut , and members of the vestries of the Arabic and English speaking congregations on Thursday December 2nd, 2021.
Archdeacon Zorob welcomed Bishop and Mrs. Naoum, and wished them and the accompanying delegation a pleasant visit to Lebanon.
Bishop Naoum listened attentively to members from both vestries as they explained the current situation in Lebanon, and the needs and aspirations of both congregations. Both Bishop and Mrs. Naoum offered words of encouragement. Bishop Naoum said: “today we are physically present with you, however you are always present in our thoughts and prayers. We brought with us today blessings from Jerusalem and the restriction, and in this Advent season especially we brought greetings from Bethlehem.
We are all one body, and when one member is hurting the rest of the body hurts with it as well. However, today despite all these challenges and suffering, we want to be joyful together, after all this is what Christmas is all about. Christmas brings Hope and Light in the person of Jesus Christ in the manger.” Bishop Naoum ended with the words of the angel: “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. (Luke 2: 10- 11, NRSV)”
التقى رئيس الأساقفة الأنچليكاني في القدس المطران حسام نعوم مع كاهن رعية جميع القديسين في بيروت الأرشديكون عماد زعرب وعمدتي الكنيسة من الرعية العربية والرعية الأجنبية يوم الخميس 2/12/2021.
رحّب الأرشديكون زعرب بالمطران والسيدة نعوم وتمنّى لهما وللوفد المرافق زيارة وإقامة سعيدة. تفقّد المطران نعوم أوضاع بيروت بشكل عام، إذ استمع بانتباه إلى أعضاء العمدتين عن التحديات التي يواجهها الشعب اللبناني، وبشكل خاص احتياجات وطموحات الرعيتين. تحدّث كلّ من المطران والسيدة نعوم بكلمات تشجيعية وداعمة. وفي كلمته قال نيافته: “وجودنا معكم اليوم هو حضور جسدي، ولكن انتم دائما في صلواتنا وقلوبنا، أحضرنا اليكم معنا عطر القدس والقيامة وخاصة في هذا الوقت عطر الميلاد من مهد بيت لحم التي زرتها قبل مجيئي اليكم. نحن أعضاء الجسد الواحد، إن تألم عضو واحد فيتألم الجسد، واليوم بالرّغم من التحديات والألم والمعاناة، نريد أن نفرح معاً هذا هو الميلاد الذي يمنحنا الأمل والنور في شخص طفل المغارة يسوع المسيح”. وانهى بكلمات الملاك: «لَا تَخَافُوا! فَهَا أَنَا أُبَشِّرُكُمْ بِفَرَحٍ عَظِيمٍ يَكُونُ لِجَمِيعِ ٱلشَّعْبِ: أَنَّهُ وُلِدَ لَكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِي مَدِينَةِ دَاوُدَ مُخَلِّصٌ هُوَ ٱلْمَسِيحُ ٱلرَّبُّ».
