Archbishop Hosam Naoum, the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, presided over the Eucharist at the Church of the Redeemer in Jabal Amman on the Sixteenth Sunday after the Trinity, assisted by Rev’d Canon Faeq Haddad, the rector of the parish, Rev’d Canon Don Binder, and Rev’d Canon Wadie Far, on Sunday October 2, 2022. In the service Bishop Naoum confirmed a group of adolescents from the congregation by the Laying of Hands and anointing them with Chrism Oil.
Rev’d Canon Haddad welcomed Archbishop Naoum and the Clergy present on behalf of the congregation and all present.
In his sermon Bishop Naoum talked about the meaning of thanksgiving and its importance to a Christian life, summarizing his sermon by saying: “Thanksgiving is born from the heart of contentment.” He also talked about safeguarding creation, and the care for the environment, which was the main theme of his Thanksgiving letter for this year.
Bishop Naoum congratulated the confirmands and their families.

رئيس الأساقفة حسام نعوم يحتفل بقداس عيد الشكر والتثبيت في كنيسة الفادي عمان يوم الأحد 2/10/2022
ترأس رئيس الأساقفة الأنچليكاني في القدس المطران حسام نعوم خدمة الشركة المقدسة لعيد الشكر الذي صادف في الأحد السادس عشر بعد الثالوث وذلك في كنيسة الفادي على جبل عمان الأردن مساء يوم 2/10/2022، حيث منح سر التثبيت بوضع الأيدي وبمسحة زيت الميرون لرهط من شباب وشابات الرّعية، عاونه راعي الكنيسة القس الكنن فائق حداد، بحضور كلّ من القس الكنن دون بيندر والقس الكنن وديع الفار.
رحّب الكنن فائق حداد باسمه وباسم عائلته والعمدة الراعوية والحضور، برئيس الأساقفة حسام نعوم وبالرعاة الحاضرين.
تحدّث المطران نعوم في عظته عن فضائل ومعاني الشكر وأهميّته في حياة المسيحي ولخّصها بهذة العبارة “من رحم القناعة يُولد الشكر”. كما وتطرّق إلى الموضوع الرئيسي في رسالته بمناسبة عيد الشكر لهذا العام، ألا وهو الاعتناء بالخليقة والحفاظ على البيئة والمناخ.
