On 10 December 2015, Archbishop Suheil Dawani opened the new entrance to St. Luke’s Hospital, Nablus. The Archbishop and Mrs. Shafeeqa Dawani then joined the Governor of Nablus staff and friends of the hospital at a Christmas lunch.
St Luke’s Hospital in Nablus celebrated the opening of the main entrance to the hospital after its expansion. It launched its Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, with the participation of Archbishop Suheil Dawani, the accompanied delegation, the Governor of Nablus, Major General Akram Rajoub, a host of legal figures, representatives of public and private institutions, and clergymen of various denominations.
Archbishop Suheil congratulated the Palestinian people in general and the hospital in particular on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year, saying: “This year we celebrate Christmas, Muslims, Christians and Samaritans in Nablus. We also celebrated the lighting of Christmas tree in Bethlehem to emphasize on our Christmas message in which we have our history and our existence on this earth.”
Director General of the Hospital Dr. Walid Saba Kirreh welcomed the guests and congratulated the Palestinian people and their leadership represented by President Mahmoud Abbas with Christmas, saying “Celebration of the holidays is part of our history and our faith. This presence is the embodiment of the relationship of solidarity, tolerance and love.”
It should be noted that the renovation work of the main entrance of the hospital was recently completed at a cost of about $100,000.
Dr Kirreh said in a special statement that the expansion project faced many difficulties, and it would not have been accomplished without the support of Archbishop Suheil who ensured all the costs so that the entrance fit this prestigious institution.
