Under the patronage of Archbishop Suheil Dawani, Princess Basma Center for Children with Disabilities inaugurated the recently renovated Children’s Rehabilitation Section at the Center. This Section will continue to provide quality and comprehensive services to children and their families in a holistic way; It is composed of rooms for Music Therapy, speech therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy as well as a Sensory Room, one of the few and most advanced in the country. The project was funded through the generous donation from the Islamic Bank for Development.
In his speech, AB Suheil thanked all the staff and workers of the different departments of the Princess Basma Center for their tremendous efforts. “It’s encouraging that after 50 years of ministry at the center, Princess Basma Center continues to reach out to the most vulnerable children in our society” said the Archbishop. “The heart of our ministry at Princess Basma is best expressed in Matthew 25:40: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me’.
Mr. Ibrahim Faltas, Director General of the Center then recognized all of those who contributed to the project. “Without the efforts of the staff, engineers, contractors and generosity of the Islamic Development Bank, this project would not have been possible. This is a great opportunity for the center to continue to serve as one of the four largest national rehabilitation centers in Palestine in the provision of rehabilitation services for children”. Among the present during the festivities were the Mr. Adnan Husseini, Minister of Jerusalem brother Eng. Hani Abu Diab, a representative of the Islamic Development Bank and a number of representatives of the partners and donors of the organization.
