Christ the King Church, Tarshiha.

Archbishop Suheil and other diocesan leaders visited the ethnically mixed village of Tarshiha in Upper Galilee, close to the Lebanese border. Deacon Hatim Jiryis has been pastoring a congregation of about 120 there, where they have been worshiping in a rented space.

They are now breaking ground for a new church, having raised more than half of the $1.5 million cost.

To mark this important milestone in the life of the congregation, Archbishop Suheil offered prayers of dedication and placed a Bible at the base of the church's cornerstone.

With the support of additional contributors, the Archbishop hopes to return next year to consecrate the completed church, which will be named Christ the King.
