Archbishop Suheil Dawani joined the 20th anniversary celebration of the Anglican Province of the Hong Kong - The Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui.


Archbishop Suheil Dawani, Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem and the Middle East, guest and Anglican Leaders from around the World, have joined the local Anglicans in Hong Kong for a series of events to mark the 20th anniversary of the Anglican Province of Hong Kong. Thousands gathered for a colorful celebration of the Eucharist at the vast Asia World-Expo centre on Saturday (6 October). Among them were dignitaries from mainland China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, Ireland, Middle East, the UK and the United States.


The celebrant was the Primate of Hong Kong, Archbishop Paul Kwong and the sermon was given by the Anglican Communion Secretary General, Dr Josiah Idowu-Fearon, who was privileged to be invited to speak on such an auspicious occasion. He paid tribute to the work and witness of the Primate, bishops, clergy and other membership of the Anglican Province in Hong Kong.


On Sunday, October 14, 2018 and during this historic first visit of the Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem to the Province of Hong Kong (HKSKH) since its establishment in 1998, Archbishop Suheil Dawani preached at the 9am Eucharist at the St John’s Cathedral, and spoke to the provincial clergy about the Church in Jerusalem, its challenges, and the status of Christians in the Middle East. His sermon was much appreciated by more than 700 members of the congregation who were present.
