Archbishop Suheil welcomes to St. George's Cathedral the Most Reverend Bernard Langley, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Birmingham, and the Most Reverend Dr. Philip Freier, Anglican Primate of Australia.

They are Co-Chairs of the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC), which is meeting in Jerusalem as a continuation of its third phase of dialogues, focusing on the Church local and universal, and how the Church discerns right ethical teaching.

In his welcoming remarks to the Commission, Archbishop Suheil noted the fitting nature of Jerusalem for these discussions, since it was the one place where the church was first at unity on the Day of Pentecost, and later where the Apostles and Church leaders met to resolve matters of disagreement through reflection on Scripture and prayerfully seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Please keep the members of ARCIC in your prayers as they meet here in Jerusalem throughout the coming week.
