Under the patronage of his Eminence Archbishop Suheil Dawani, President of the Synod of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and the Middle East, the Arab Episcopal Church Synod announced the opening of session for their 105 meeting since 1905. The Arab Evangelical Holy Synod meeting entitled "Ministry of Reconciliation" commenced with an opening ceremony at the Anglican Episcopal Church in Amman, where five Bishops of the Global Anglican and Episcopal World including Palestine and Jordan, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland, met with a group of pastoralists and lay members of the Synod, who came from different parts of the Middle East (Palestine, Palestinian Arabs of 1948 in Israel, Syria, Lebanon and various governorates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan). Besides, the Synod was attended by the head of the Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Middle East, Bishop Sunni Ibrahim Azar, and Greek Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem who came especially for the occasion from Jerusalem.

Dr. Mohammad Abu Rumman, the Minister of Culture and Youth, representing Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Omar Al-Raz to the opening ceremony of the Synod session, praised  the importance of the dissemination and consolidation of religious and cultural speeches that show the truth of religions and its essence, honoring value of humanity itself, indicating that the message must be clear to our societies and youth that the function of religion is to build and unite people and societies rather than turning it into a machine of hatred and murder.

In his turn, the Most Reverend Archbishop Suheil Dawani said that Jordan is a role model for coexistence, partnership and love for sustainability and development, stressing in the need to spread the spirit of hope, tolerance and positive and declare war on the desperate, frustrating and sadistic discourse. He added that the annual Synod sessions aim to achieve a common dialogue for a deep understanding of our reality in Jordan and the Arab world, and the importance of us working together to achieve the best future for all.
